  • Guest: Harry de Leyer – Harry arrived in post-war America with precious few belongings and a great deal of hope. Putting behind him his memories of Nazi occupation during WWII, Harry made his way as a naturally gifted horseman who could recognize talent and get the best out of the horses that came through his hands. As a member of the United States Equestrian Team, Harry competed in World Cups and World Championships. Snowman became a household name in the U.S. winning the National Horse Show national championship and developing his own fans while collecting AHSA Horse of the Year Awards and being inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame. The story of Harry and Snowman has been chronicled in Elizabeth Lett’s book entitled, Snowman, The Eighty Dollar Champion, of which there is much anticipation for it to be made into a film.
