Every year, Equine Affaire selects an artist and features their work on the cover of both event programs, on the social media, on the website, and all of our other marketing materials. This year, we were thrilled to work with Tony O’Connor, an Irish artist who creates stunningly lifelike paintings of horses and other animals. His painting, “FAOI GHEASA” is our featured artwork this year. On today’s show, we interview Tony and learn all about his processes — plus what else he likes to paint! The ASPCA Right Horse Adoption Affaire was wildly successful at Equine Affaire in Ohio this year! Nearly forty horses from 9 ASPCA Right Horse Adoption Partner organizations were there, and 21 horses were adopted on-site, plus three more are pending. Cailin Caldwell is the program director for the ASPCA Right Horse Program and joins us to chat about the Adoption Affaire on today’s show. Next, we have a very special duo: Sally Durbin and Reese Wolheter are a grandmother/granddaughter team and the 23 Ohio Champions of the ILHA Freestyle Invitational competition.

German rider Sabine Desper fell in love with the gleaming Akhal-Teke breed in 2009 when she started working for Shenandoah Farm in Virginia. Today, she joins us on the show to chat about these special shiny horses, including Adamek, a purebred Akhal-Teke stallion. She is Adamek’s rider and trainer and she’ll be accompanying Adamek to the Breed Pavilion in Ohio. Next, Sterling Graburn is our featured driving clinician this spring.
